Lin is a biotech venture investor working with early-stage biotech companies (investor of Meliora Therapeutics, Cache DNA, etc).  She has advised multiple biotech companies and investors since 2018 and helped startups secure over $8M in seed-stage funding. 

Prior to her investor career, Lin was a scientist trained at top universities with 15+ years of experience in neuroscience and bioengineering. She is a co-inventor of several neuroscience and drug discovery tools, including: 1) a red fluorescence protein Crimson and a high-res neuron-labeling technique, 2) a non-invasive in vivo CNS drug screening platform, 3) SARS-CoV2 protease inhibitors currently in pre-clinical studies.

Mateo is a Principal Investigator at Cambridge University and a Wellcome Trust Fellow. He has over 15 years of experience in chemistry, protein engineering, synthetic biology, and neuroscience at top research institutes including Stanford University, MIT, and Imperial College London. 

Mateo pioneers the development of directed evolution platforms to improve enzyme properties. His work has been widely used in different areas of biotechnology and published in Nature and Cell. He is an inventor of a series of commercially available fluorescent probes such as Mitoblue, a dye specifically labels functional mitochondria.
